A boathouse full of bike stands.
Harbor Bike Works lives in a converted boathouse at 18 Commercial Street, right on the water. It’s an old building with tall windows, wooden beams, and just enough room for four stands and a wall of wheels.
We opened because Portland needed a repair-only shop — somewhere you could bring the bike you already own and have it fixed properly, without being sold a new one on the way out.
Repair only
We fix what you already own. No sales floor, no pressure to trade up.

Both former racers on the New England circuit. You’ll meet whoever works on your bike.

The mechanics
Racers turned wrenches.
Both of us came up racing on the New England circuit, one on the road and one on cyclocross. We know what a bike is supposed to feel like when it’s working, and we know how to get yours there.
We fix commuters, gravel bikes, carbon race bikes, kids’ bikes and everything in between, and we treat all of them the same way: carefully, honestly, and in a reasonable amount of time.
Come by with the bike you own.
Walk-ins are welcome. Most repairs are done while you wait or ready by the next morning.
